The General Sir John Monash Foundation funds full-time master’s or PhD study at any accredited university outside Australia. It is worth AUD 100,000 per year of study, up to AUD 300,000, plus a one-off travel allowance.

Who can apply

Australian citizens who have completed, or will complete by the end of the year before the award, a degree at an Australian university and who plan to start full-time postgraduate study overseas. Holders of a Rhodes, Fulbright or Ramsay scholarship for the same program are not eligible.

Deadline

Next deadline not announced yet. Applications for 2028 scholarships will open in May 2027; the closing date has not been announced. The 2027 round ran from 1 May to 30 June 2026.
