Swiss federal scholarships for foreign early career researchers to do PhD or doctoral research at a Swiss university or research institute. They pay CHF 2,450 a month, plus health insurance and a return flight allowance for non-EU/EFTA holders, but do not cover tuition or semester fees.
Who can apply
Researchers from 183 eligible countries with a master’s degree completed by 31 July 2027, born after 31 December 1991, and backed by a supervisor in Switzerland.
Deadline
Next deadline not announced yet. Applications for 2027/28 opened on 20 August 2026. Deadlines differ by country of origin and are listed on the official page; awards are announced by the end of May.
