Division I schools offer athletics aid through financial aid agreements that can cover tuition and fees, room and board and course-related books, though NCAA notes most athletes receive partial aid and awards are usually renewed year to year. NCAA reports over $4 billion in athletics scholarships awarded each year across its divisions.
Who can apply
Open to international students who register with the NCAA Eligibility Center for academic and amateurism certification, submit transcripts from year nine onward with word-for-word English translations and proof of graduation, and meet 16 core courses with a 2.3 core GPA. A coach must recruit you at a high level of play, and the school must add you to its request list.
Deadline
Next deadline not announced yet. There is no single deadline; offers are made by individual Division I coaches during sport-specific signing periods. NCAA advises registering with the Eligibility Center as early as possible.
